As Northwest Florida’s only state-funded public university, the University of West Florida plays a critical role - from providing the talent that drives a knowledge-based economy, to returning $650 million annually to the region. UWF accomplishes this by collaborating with local hospitals, business firms, arts venues, military bases, non-profit organizations, technology corporations and more, to develop a strong network of regional partners dedicated to making Northwest Florida a better place to live, work and play.
“Partnerships are crucial to any university but especially to a regional university,” said UWF President Judy Bense. “When universities have partners that share a common sense of purpose and understand the value of a quality education, the results are indescribable.”
Through collaborative programs in the arts, allied and health sciences, engineering, business and education, UWF works with the community to meet regional workforce needs and to provide students with unmatched opportunities to gain hands-on experience in their fields.
“Our partnerships provide active learning environments for our students, resources to fuel the shared academic/industry quest of discovery and research, and most of all help us properly align our programmatic offerings to the needs of the region,” said Bense.
UWF salutes and celebrates its community partners’ commitment to Creating Great Futures for Northwest Florida.
