Parent Resources
Program Outcomes - This program will provide opportunities for students to increase their reading proficiency in the summer instead of falling into the traditional “summer slump” and loss of reading skills. We will work to strengthen word knowledge, fluency and comprehension, focusing specifically on the area appropriate for each student.
Program Description - Instruction will take place in small groups (3-5 students) utilizing materials that are highly motivating to students.
Just for Parents - During the last class of each session parents are invited to meet with Dr. Kathleen Heubach, UWF associate professor of reading education, to discuss ways to help their children in reading throughout the year, including a focus on their individual needs.
