Measured Progress is a not-for-profit corporation committed to supporting educational progress through assessment programs that are closely integrated with curriculum and instruction. Its mission is the improvement of teaching and learning by providing customized assessment tools. Assessment programs consist of partnerships among state departments of education or school consortia staff, school administrators and teachers, college and university faculty, and the public.

Measured Progress combines both traditional and innovative measures in the design of large-scale assessment programs. Most of the assessment programs that the company has participated in include multiple-choice, short-answer, and open-response questions and writing tasks for primary, middle, and high school students. Some of the more innovative programs have also used performance tasks and portfolio evaluations.
