The University of West Florida (UWF) Internal Auditing and Management Consulting Department (IAMC) is an independent appraisal function within the State University System and UWF. The overall mission of the IAMC Department is to help UWF achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency by performing three (3) primary functions: audits, investigations, and proactive projects.
AUDITS
- Conduct audits of university operations to identify and report both strengths and weaknesses/inefficiencies and to make recommendations accordingly.
- Perform reviews and audits in accordance with applicable professional standards (federal, state, and professional regulations).
- Be innovative; question existing procedures and suggest improvements for operational effectiveness and efficiency.
INVESTIGATIONS
- Investigate promptly all allegations received by IAMC to ascertain the merit of allegations.
- Work closely with campus police to ensure proper handling of investigations and, if criminal, refer items to campus police.
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with laws, rules, and regulations.
- Communicate investigative results as required.
PROACTIVE PROJECTS
- Provide a wide variety of consulting services.
- Guide the evolving paradigms into flexible structures complemented by interdivisional cooperative initiatives.
- Initiate and facilitate team projects which encourage creative thinking and innovative problem solving.
- Strive to continually improve the quality and usefulness of our products.
