Homecoming Schedule Highlights:

Cannon Fest - Wednesday, October 3rd
11:00am-2:00pm – Cannon Green
This new tradition emphasizes student impact at UWF, with presentations by students, alumni, and administrators.

Tailgate Party – Friday, October 5th
4:00pm-7:00pm – Softball Field
Bring your favorite tailgating supplies and connect with students, alumni, and colleagues!

Homecoming Festival – Saturday, October 6th
11:00am-3:00pm – Camellia Green
This event will feature a student concert, food, games, a family fun zone, the UWF Showcase, and the Homecoming Parade.

UWF Showcase:

UWF Academic Departments and their student organizations are invited to host a booth at the Homecoming Festival. This is a great chance to show students, alumni, and community members the impact that UWF faculty members and students are having on campus and beyond! Showcase awards, highlight recent scholarship, or show attendees what it’s like to be a student in your department. Showcasing departments can also sign up for “demo” time on the Festival stage! Blue & Green Challenge:

The department or office with the most points at the end of the week will be recognized at the Homecoming Festival and will earn a breakfast for their office at their convenience. There are four ways to earn points:

1. Door Decoration – decorate your most prominent door with blue and green for Homecoming 2012 by Monday, October 1 for this contest. The Homecoming Student Executive Board will visit and select winners based on creativity, quality, and Argo Spirit! (5 points for participating; 5 Bonus Points for first place, 3 for second place, 1 for third place).

2. Food Drive – collect food for Feeding America, our Homecoming 2012 philanthropy. We’ll pick up our food items on Friday, October 5, for delivery to Feeding America. (5 Points for participating; Bonus Points – 5 pts for 1st, 3 pts for 2nd, 1 pt for 3rd)

3. Blue & Green Dress-Up Day – staff members can earn points for their office by wearing UWF colors on Monday, October 1. Upload a picture to the Homecoming Facebook page for Bonus Points! (5 points for participation – 5 Bonus Points for uploading picture of staff in Blue & Green to the Homecoming Facebook page)

4. Event Participation – staff members can (a) check in with the Homecoming tent at Cannon Fest, (b) host a group of students, staff members, or alumni at the Homecoming Tailgate, (c) participate in the UWF Showcase or host a kids’ booth at the Homecoming Festival, or (d) enter a float in the Parade (5 Bonus Points per each point of participation)
