Date:  Friday, January 22nd, 1999

Time:   2:30 - 4:30 p.m.

Place:  Field House, Rm. 116A

The general purpose of this course is to help students gain
knowledge about and experience with computers and technology
by "gently forcing" them to use such in an relaxed setting.  Each
student will have their own computer to work on. A second purpose
is to help students become more accurately informed by learning
how to identify and use reliable sources of health information.
The course will provide a variety of learning opportunities such
as extensive on-line Internet browsing activities.   These learning
opportunities are designed to raise the level of "health awareness"
of students.   In-class cooperative learning is encouraged
among students. Students will learn how to use email (and the
class listserv too) to communicate with others (professor, friends,
family, grandchildren, etc.) and to share concerns, problems,
and solutions with one another in or out of class.
