At the age of
tweny-seven, I was pregnant with my second child.
I decided to go to sleep early because I
had a severe headache. I awoke the next morning and the headache was worse. I attempted
to walk;
however the left side of my body did not want to participate.
My oldest daughter alerted my mother and
we rushed off to the hospital. Upon arrival I vomitted and seized. After the seizure I
was able to
comprehend and reply to the staff's question. I was given
high doses of anti convulsive medication,
however, I had another grand mal seizure. The Radiologists through
a CT scan discovered a large
intracerebral hematoma. Brain surgery was recommended by the
Neurosurgeon. And for the safety of
my child's life as well as my own the craniotomy and C-section surgeries were performed
simultaneously.
The baby turned out to be a healthy 3 pound 10 ounce
baby girl born on the same day as her brave and
beautiful big sister. I was in a coma for about two days. When I
awoke I did not recall being pregnant
and was paralyed on the left side. I few days later I moved to a
rehabilitation hospital where I learned
how to walk again. During the ordeal my mother remained calm. She is
strong in the Lord. She had
immediately called our pastor and a few other prayer warriors. They
all stood in the corridor of the
hospital as the Neurosurgeon counseled them of poor prognosis.
However, my Obstetrician also was
strong in the Lord and told them that "medical science did what it
could, and that devine assistance would
be needed for her ultimate healing". And my mother know doubt
shouted praises unto the Lord! I was
truly blessed. I feel that the Lord used this to bring me back to Him.
