- We are pleased to announce that UWF You Have Choices! was selected as a model alcohol prevention program by the U.S. Department of Education’s Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse and Violence Prevention. This distinction was awarded to only five universities for the 2009-2010 Academic Year. Dr. Debra Vinci, Associate Professor in Community Health Education & Associate Chair of HLES, is the Program Director. Funding from the grant will be used to enhance and further evaluate the effectiveness of UWF alcohol prevention programs. Details of this award can be viewed at: Higher Education Center.
