What is Route It?Route It is a UWF system that sends a form or other online documentation to multiple employees who each do their part to complete a process. After one person completes his or her task, the route is sent to the next person in the process.
One example of a route is the UWF key request. The person requesting the key begins the route by completing an online form. The form is then sent to the Dean/Department Head and the Police Department for review. Finally the route is received by Facilities where the key is issued.
.To start a Route It process, simply search MyUWF for the process name, for example - Key Request. Select Key Request and fill out the online form. The Route It system is used for many different types of requests, so each form will look a little different. Simply follow the instructions on the screen. Listed below are some form items that you are likely to see.
Comments: Each route has a comments box. By default your comments travel with the route so that everyone else in the route can see your comments - this can be used to pass information to the next person in the route. You can also make your comments private, for your own personal reference, by checking the box at the bottom of the yellow section.
Finish: Submits the route to the next person in the process.
Delete Request: Completely deletes the route and any information you entered.
Detour Request: Sends the route to someone else who would not otherwise see the information included in the route. You may use this option to simply make someone aware of what's going on, or if you want someone's approval before you finish submitting the route.
Save and return to Route List: Saves any information you entered and returns the route to your list of routes requiring action so that you can complete it later.
At any point, you can track the progress of your route to see who is working on it and how close it is to completion. This information is available from the Route It main menu which you can access from RouteIt in MyUWF. Simply click the name of the route. Please note that you must use the search feature to see any routes completed more than seven days ago.
