RouteIt is a UWF system for electronically sending documents to one or more people for action. As individuals receive and review a document, their name is recorded, providing an online record of their electronic signature. For instance, at any point along the route, a document can be approved or denied.
In a traditional route, the document is sent to a pre-defined list of user roles. For example, a document may start with a requester, then go to a manager, and finally a dean or department head - it must go through the steps in the pre-defined order.
Unlike a traditional route, a Flexible Route does not have a pre-defined list of user roles that must receive the document. Instead, the user simply selects the name of the person who needs the document next, and off it goes. You create your own path!
There are two big advantages to a Flexible Route. First, you’re not locked into a single route for your document, so you can adapt your workflow depending on the situation. Second, it takes much less ITS programming time, which means routes can be built much faster.
