Route It: Routes Awaiting Your Action
When a route requires your action, you receive an email notification. Click the link contained in the email to open the Route It system. You can also see routes requiring your action from RouteIt in MyUWF (my.uwf.edu).
Within Route It, the "Routes awaiting my action" section lists all of the tasks that you need to perform.
Steps:
- Each route has a View Document link. Click this link to see information about the item you are taking action on. When finished reviewing the document, close the window to return to Route It.
- Depending on the type of route you are looking at, you may have several sections of information to enter, or just one. Fill out all of the information required to complete the task.
- If you wish, you can enter comments. By default your comments travel with Route It so that everyone else in the route, including the initiator, can see your comments. However, you can also make your comments private for your own personal reference, by checking the box at the bottom of the comments section.
- Click a button to complete the task. Your options depend on the process you are working with. Below are the most common options.
- Deny: Denies the request.
- Approve: Allows the route to proceed to the next person in the route with your approval.
- Detour Request: Sends the item to someone else who is not normally in the process. Read more about detouring.
- Save and return to Route List: Saves any information you entered and returns the route to your list of routes requiring action.
