Leaving UWF

How long will my ArgoNet account remain active?

If you are a student, your ArgoNet account will be deactivated after two semesters of non-enrollment. You will be sent an email warning 30 days before this deletion.

If you are an employee, your account will be deactivated two weeks after Human Resources terminates your employment. However, you may request a 30-day extension of your account so that you have more time to tie up loose ends.

Can I forward my UWF email to another email account?

Yes, forwarding email is possible for as long as the account remains active (see above for specific time frames). However, once your account is deactivated, any forwards for your address will also be removed. See the instructions to forward UWF email to another email account.

What will happen to my email messages?

All email messages will be unavailable once the account is deactivated. If you wish to retain your messages, you must move them in advance of the account deactivation. You should notify anyone who sends email to your UWF address of the change. Messages sent to your UWF address will be returned to the sender with a "user unknown" message.

What will happen to the files on my H: and I: drives?

All files will be deleted when the account is deleted. If you wish to save your files, you must remove them from your H: and I: drives before your account is deactivated. The ITS Help Desk would be glad to assist you in either burning these files to a CD or copying them to another storage device, such as a memory stick.

Can I leave my new contact information with the university?

Yes, you are encouraged to leave a current email address and mailing address with the university.

Graduating students can update their official contact information in Argus by going to the "My Info" tab and clicking on the "address change" link in the "personal student records" section. This link is also available in LightHouse.

Employees who are leaving the university should leave their future contact information with Human Resources.

I have software that I received due to my affiliation with UWF. Can I keep it?

No, when you leave UWF you must remove any software that you received from UWF. This includes but is not limited to McAfee Anti-Virus software, Microsoft Work-at-Home software, SPSS, and SAS. Continuing to use this software once you leave the university is a violation of the software license.
