Roles and Responsibilities

Department Information Administrators (DIAs) Directory

Department heads or authorized representatives are responsible for requesting information administrator security access for designated department employees. Select the department name from the directory listing to request security access changes.

Update the "front matter" for the Campus Directory
Update the department names and reporting hierarchy for the department
Create "aliases" for a department to appear in the Campus Directory alphabetical and search listings
Create additional "groups" within the department, mainly for authorization or display purposes
Manage the departmental staff membership (employee list) as employees are hired or leave the University. Departmental membership is published in the on-line Campus Directory but also used for many purposes including securing ArgoNet resources, emailing to groups, or creating import groups for other applications such as MyUWF or for departmental use.
Set up FAQs or other department publications.

ITS Liaisons Directory

ITS Liaisons are key users with stewardship responsibility for particular ITS systems and associated data. Liaisons are the first point of contact for faculty and staff with questions, requests for data, or requests for ITS resources regarding these systems.

Local Support Providers (LSPs) Directory

Working in various university departments, Local Support Providers (LSPs) serve as the local technical support person for a department - the first point of contact for faculty and staff who require technology related assistance.

Web Contacts Directory

Web Contacts provide valuable services to both the departments they serve and ITS. As the liaison to ITS for many web-related issues, the web contact for a department and/or division is empowered with tools and utilities to enable them to help their own users quickly and in the priority order appropriate to them. Contacts are responsible to a particular department or organization for managing (not creating/updating) its web presence and keeping that department informed of UWF's web policies, practices and procedures.

Request new ArgoNet accounts for the department
Annually review ArgoNet accounts owned by the department to ensure the resources are still needed, and the people who have taken responsibility for the content of those accounts (Responsible Parties (RP) & Content Providers (CP)) are accurately reflected
Discuss and/or resolve any issues related to ArgoNet accounts within their department
Serve as a liaison between the department's Web Developers and the Web Presence Team
Communicate changes in policies, practices and procedures
Have knowledge of the web tools, utilities and procedures provided to them via the Web Presence site
Have a working relationship with the Department Information Administrators representing their department
Help maintain the departmental staff membership used by the on-line campus directory
Have knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of the other information technology-related support groups

Web Developers Directory

Web Developers are responsible to a particular department or organization for creating and maintaining its Web presence.

Receive training in the use of university Web templates or content management system
Have knowledge of the Web tools, utilities and procedures provided to them via the Web Presence Site and Certification Training Program
Ensure that the Web sites they develop comply with the university's Web standards
Have knowledge of UWF's Web policies, practices and procedures
Have a working relationship with their departmental Web Contact and communicate any issues regarding their web presence to the Web Contact

Workstation Managers (WSMs) Directory

Division and college Workstation Managers (WSMs) determine levels of access for users of administrative data, and are responsible for monitoring and implementing security measures for the data under their control. Workstation Manager/Security Administrator Guide
