Once You've Enrolled
Now that you are an official UWF student, you can begin to explore the online resources available to you. The services listed here are a good place to start.
- Your ArgoNet account provides access to most of the online services available at UWF. This account is available to you 24 hours after you have registered for classes. You may have already activated your account during student orientation. If not, you can activate your account from the MyUWF login page at my.uwf.edu. Click "Activate your account - New to UWF" in the Home Items list and follow the on-screen instructions.
-
MyUWF is the website, or "web portal," that contains all of the information and online services that you need to be an active member of the UWF community. Log into MyUWF at my.uwf.edu.
-
Activating your ArgoNet account automatically activates your Google Apps account for email, calendar, and collaboration tools. Log into Google Apps at http://gmail.students.uwf.edu. Your email address is your ArgoNet username followed by "@students.uwf.edu". Learn more about Google Apps.
All students receive 500MB of space on the UWF server for storing files (H: drive) and website hosting (I: drive). Your H: and I: drives are secure and backed up regularly, and they can be accessed from any computer connected to the Internet.
UWF has two open-access labs on the Pensacola campus, the Building 79 Computer Lab and the CyberLounge, and two in Fort Walton Beach. For those who prefer to compute from their own computer, the eDesktop Virtual Computer Lab allows you to access UWF software from any high-speed Internet connection. To access eDesktop, or for more lab information, log into MyUWF at my.uwf.edu and search for "eDesktop".
eLearning is the university's online course management system. Chances are that at least one of your classes uses eLearning. eLearning is available in MyUWF. Prepare for eLearning with eLearning Support for Students.
