Java
Due to its wide distribution, the Java Run-time Engine (JRE) and the Java Browser Plug-in (or add-on) have become a favorite target for viruses and hacker-exploits. ITS strongly recommends removing Java (especially the browser plug-in) from your computer IF you do not use any of the following software:
- Banner Native (INB) (note: most people use Self Service Banner - for example time-sheets. INB is something different)
- Elluminate
- eLearning Live Room Chat
- Training Reservation Desk Admin
IF you DO use some software listed in the above list please go check your version of Java. If your version of Java (or Java Plug-in/add-on) starts with 7, you should immediately uninstall it and install version 6.38.
