To recognize outstanding thesis research and encourage more students to conduct thesis research, the Graduate Council has established an Outstanding Master's Thesis award. Award winners have demonstrated exceptional research and performance during their graduate career. The Graduate School presents up to 3 awards annually.
Congratulations to Ms. April Holmes, and Mr. Christopher Satterwhite, winners of UWF's 2011-12 Outstanding Master's Thesis Award. Their thesis titles and advisors are:
Christopher Satterwhite (Thesis Advisor, Dr. Baulch, English) – "I Go to Make Freemen of Slaves: Romantic Abolitionist Poetry and the Creation of Negro Fort."
April Holmes (Thesis Advisor, Dr. Benchley, Anthropology) – Demographic Patterns at Presidios Santa Maria de Galve and Isla de Santa Rosa (1698-1752): An Analysis of Historical Documents and Personal Adornment Artifacts
Awards will be presented at the UWF's Honors Convocation on April 5, 2013.
