Curriculum and Instruction, M.Ed.

The Curriculum and Instruction Comprehensive Master's Program consists of a set of core classes and a carefully selected sequence of cognate courses designed to meet the needs of our students and the service region. The core consists of seven courses (21 semester hours), and students may choose from four specializations:

Specializations
Primary Education Comprehensive
The Comprehensive Specialization in Primary Education is an NCATE accredited program. This specialization is designed to develop master teachers who will be prepared for the instructional and leadership roles in primary education. With careful selection of courses, students may qualify for the Pre-kindergarten Disability Endorsement Program and/or Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist Credential. Elementary Education Comprehensive
This NCATE approved Comprehensive Specialization in Elementary Education is a non-initial teacher certification program. This specialization is designed to develop master teachers who will be prepared for the instructional and leadership roles in Elementary Education. Middle Level Education Comprehensive
The NCATE approved Comprehensive Specialization in Middle Level Education is a non-initial teacher certification program. This specialization is designed to develop master teachers who will be prepared for the instructional and leadership roles in Middle Level Education. Secondary Education Comprehensive
The Comprehensive Specialization in Secondary Education is an NCATE accredited program. This specialization is designed to develop master teachers who will be prepared for the instructional and leadership roles in Secondary Education. Admission Requirements

In addition to the University graduate admission requirements described in the Graduate Admissions section of the UWF graduate catalog, the applicant must meet the minimum departmental admission requirements for regular admission. The criteria listed in the admission checklist (see right-side column).
