- Travis presented his paper co-authored with Dr. Jocelyn Evans titled "No Delegates? No Problem: Examining Voting Behavior in the 2008 Primary Elections in Escambia County," at the Florida Political Science Association Conference in St. Peterburg, Florida, April 12, 2008.
- Travis also presented this same paper at the The Politics of Science and the Science of Politics Conference at Berry College in Rome, GA, March 26-28, 2008.
- Travis presented his paper titled "A Lost Cause or Determining the Course? A Study of the Recent Impact of Third Parties in America," at the Southern Political Science Association Conference in New Orleans, LA, January 11-12, 2008.
