The greatest contribution of the University to the Northwest Florida region is the education of the community. UWF is the only public four-year regional university in Northwest Florida and this year will educate more than 12,000 students. UWF serves 2,500 military and veteran students and 34 percent of the 2011 freshman class is ethnically diverse.
