A variety of options exist for those seeking training in the use of GIS software.
The Division of Continuing Education's GIS Training Academy offers a selection of two or three day GIS training courses at UWF for local professionals. These courses are typically offered two to three times a year depending on demand. Please visit http://continuinged.uwf.edu/gis.cfm for more information.
UWF has access to ESRI virtual-campus software training courses. While these courses typically cost $40 -$150, UWF faculty, staff and students can be given access to many of these courses at no cost. UWF has access to ESRI Instructor training at a 40% discount. This training is for UWF faculty and staff. These training sessions are typically only available in major cities. Click here for more information or see the PDF catalog above.
UWF students, faculty, and staff can enroll in the GIS Certificate program. This program combines GIS theory and application and contains extensive use of current GIS technologies including ESRI software. Click here for full information on this program. UWF offers in-house GIS training for group of 5 of more. Courses can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the group.
Many books are available that include ESRI exercises. Getting to Know ArcGIS Desktop contains a trial version of the software, tutorial exercises and example datasets.
