Gamma Beta Phi

July 1, 2003

Minutes:

~ The Meeting was called to order at 6:40 pm by VP.

~ Minutes from last meeting was read and approved.

~ Lana brought up the National Service Project. 

-         We may not know when until after the summer Convention.

~ John gave us a treasury report:  approx $3794 not including the $780 from the new member dues.

~ We tried to introduce new ideas on how to cut costs for inductions and save money:

-         Tiff mentioned that maybe we can have a sponsorship to help w/ postage.

-         Kate offered her Fiancé’s Dad.

-         Tiffany mentioned that she has the letter format to ask for sponsorships and money donations. 

~ Kate covered her tally sheet for service projects.

Weclome Week

~ We decided that we want to help the students w/ move in!

-         Talk to Tammy McGlukin

-         Friday Aug 22

~Set up table for the first week of school in the main hall.

(all this will be sent in an email to the General Members so they can participate as well)

~ We talked about other possible service projects that we can do.

~ “Cram the Van” (in October) can be used to work alongside our education theme.

~ Martha suggests looking into Clove’s website.

T-Shirts

~ We opened up the floor to any ideas for possible t-shirts. 

~We could look into Paradise Screening or go to the base.

Bookstore

~ The Lady was going to do some research on what she can find out and will call Amanda with any new news.

~We decided to join w/ Southern Mississippi so we have a school that will work with us.

Soccer Project

~ Allison introduced the Soccer things she’s been working with.

~ Says there will be volunteers needed to help with set up, concessions, among others, hosting the event.

~Perhaps it could be held on our new intramural fields.

~We mentioned that we want to look into having some cameras to have around the office to take pics for the scrapbook at our events.

~Tiffany will send a copy of OLD bylaws to everyone.

~We were asked to look at the pt. systems of other schools (ie. Troy State and Southern Miss) and to be thinking about minimum requirements.
