When are tuition and fees due?
The tuition payment deadline is the end of the first week of classes.
What happens if I don’t pay by my tuition and fees by the deadline?
You will be assessed a $100.00 late fee. Payments must be made in the cashier’s office, on line or postmarked by the due date to avoid the late fee. If fees are not paid by the removal date, students will be deleted from class. In order to be reinstated, students must file an appeal with the university registrar’s office. A reinstatement fee of $50.00 plus a late payment fee of $100.00 will be assessed to the student’s account.
Will I receive a bill in the mail?
No, the University of West Florida does not mail bills for tuition and fees. Students can access their ARGUS account to view their account balance.
How can I pay for my tuition and fees?
Students can pay online by going to the My Info Tab and Account Balance screen in ARGUS. Select I Want to Pay. UWF accepts Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Students may also come to the Cashier’s Office and pay with cash, check, money order or credit card.

What if I have financial aid to pay my tuition?
Financial aid that has been awarded and does not have any holds will be released and applied toward tuition, housing and meal plans on the student’s account. If the student owes over and above the amount of financial aid, the student must pay the difference by the due date or incur any applicable late fees.
What if I have a private loan to pay my tuition?
The private loan funds must be received in UWF’s bank account by the fee payment deadline and be enough to cover all tuition and fees or the student will be assessed the late fee.
What if I have a question about my financial aid?
If your question is regarding financial aid eligibility or financial aid awards, please contact the Financial Aid Office at (850) 474-2400. If your question is regarding the disbursement of your aid, contact Student Accounts at (850) 474-3037.
Why wasn’t my private scholarship disbursed?
Most of the time it is because the funds have not been received at the university or the student needs to endorse the check made payable to the student and UWF before it can be deposited into the student’s account.

How do I use my Florida Prepaid?
The university has an automatic system to see if you are a Florida Prepaid participant and will apply this toward your classes.
Why doesn’t my Florida Prepaid pay all of my tuition?
There are two types of Florida Prepaid, the standard Florida Prepaid plan which does not pay local fees and the 100% Florida Prepaid, which pays everything except the Transportation Fee. If you have the 100% Florida Prepaid, you must bring your Prepaid ID card to the cashier’s office. Students must pay the balance due after Florida Prepaid has been applied or be assessed the late fee.
How do I know which Florida Prepaid Plan I have?
You can tell which plan you have by checking your Florida Prepaid ID card. If it does not mention local fees, you have the standard plan.
What should I do if I don’t want to use Florida Prepaid this semester?
You will need to contact the UWF Cashier’s Office at (850) 474-2120 and inform the billing specialist not to apply your Florida Prepaid to your billing.
What is the Tuition Loan Program (TLP)?
The TLP program allows for half of your tuition (tuition only) to be deferred until mid semester. There is a $15.00 service charge and applications are available in the Student Accounts office in Building 20E. Students must stay in good financial standing with the university or risk losing eligibility for the TLP program. Contact Mary Kintner at (850) 474-3031.
What is the Short Term Loan (STL) Program?
Emergency Short Term Loans are available for students in good financial standing up to $500.00. Applications must be made in person in the Student Accounts Office. Contact Mandy Redfearn at (850) 474-3038.
How long does it take for fee refunds to be processed after courses have been dropped?
Refunds are reimbursed approximately 3 to 4 weeks from the fee payment deadline. Refunds will go back to the method of payment…check, credit card, financial aid etc. As soon as refunds are completed they will be disbursed to your UWF Debit Card.
How can I purchase a parking decal?
Decals can be purchased online in ARGUS or in person at the Cashier’s office. Anyone parking on campus must have a parking decal displayed either on the back driver side window or a hang tag displayed on the rear view mirror.
I have a HOLD on my account? Who do I contact to resolve this?
If you have a financial hold on your account, you will not be able to register, receive transcripts or a diploma. You may contact Student Accounts to discuss your hold. Contact Mary Kintner at 850-474-3037.
