Education Center Executive Summary |
| This University submittal includes three (3) programmed space options, corresponding design intent options, room schedules, Building Design and Construction Standards, and exhibits for the 16,000 gross square feet of leased interior space. This will provide the Master Developer with sufficient information to enable them to develop a project budget including design, construction, and completion of the leased space for immediate occupancy, excluding furniture, fixtures, and equipment. Prior to submitting the Architectural Design Guidelines deliverable to the C.M.P.A., the University requests the opportunity to meet with your team to assure understanding of the information. |
| The University of West Florida has an outstanding reputation for its academic programs. Celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2007, UWF has campuses in Pensacola and along the Emerald Coast of Northwest Florida, is a member of the State University System, and serves approximately 10,000 students. |
| This Education Center, located within the Downtown Pensacola Community Maritime Park, will develop, market, and provide delivery of traditional academic and professional development programs to meet specific training needs. Delivered programs will include professional certifications, consulting with businesses and organizations needing custom-designed training, military degree programs, executive development, and other courses in conjunction with Main Campus offerings. |
| The Education Center will be a state-of-the-art venue for a variety of educational programs for program training, corporate business events, and conferences. The one level Education Center will be located within a larger building having mixed use occupancy including restaurants, retail, residential, and a conference center facility to attract various audiences and interests. The programs offered will provide for delivery of management and professional development programs that supplement the Main Campus located ten miles north of downtown Pensacola. Spaces within the Center will include a meticulously designed Welcome Desk/Kiosk with lighted space frame above setting amid an inviting entry, an adjacent Internet Café/Library for student study and meeting space, a fully equipped executive level conference room, various size executive-style meeting/learning spaces for flexible class sizes with various furniture set-up configurations, and office spaces. |

The University information will provide a basis for the Architectural Design Guidelines design deliverable.
The final programmed space needs and design will be determined by the University and Master Developer.
The structural engineering should incorporate non load-bearing interior partitions providing ease of future floor plan modifications. The institution requests the opportunity to work with the Master Developer from schematic design through the construction document phases to assure the final design of the interior space is completed within the spirit and intent of this submittal.
