The Excellence Matters Faculty and Staff Reward and Recognition Team is comprised of eight employees (two faculty and six staff members). The team is responsible for evaluating nominations, selecting awardees and distributing awards.

Every three months, two members rotate off of the team. Two new members are appointed from the pool of previous faculty and staff Excellence Matters awardees. Through out the rotation process, the team always maintains the balance of six staff members and two faculty members. One of the six staff positions is to be filled by an individual involved in safety processes and practice on campus.
