Overview

The Excellence Matters Faculty and Staff Reward and Recognition Program is designed to recognize the tremendous efforts and contributions faculty and staff make to the University of West Florida. Excellence Matters provides individual recognition for outstanding employee service and actions that exemplify UWF's core values - caring, integrity, quality, innovation, teamwork, stewardship and courage. Excellence Matters rewards employees who put UWF's standards of ambassadorship, communications, courtesy, flexibility, helpfulness, knowledge, ownership, professionalism, responsiveness and safety into action.

Any UWF faculty or staff member may be nominated for an Excellence Matters award by anyone within the university community. Nomination Forms are available online and around campus.

Specific information must be submitted on the Excellence Matters Nomination Form. The nominee's information is reviewed on a monthly basis for quality of submission. Repeat nominations are welcome.

Excellence Matters Levels of Recognition have been established to continually recognize repeat nominees and recognize employee contributions that go way above and beyond the call of duty.

Objectives

• To recognize and promote positive behaviors that support individual, work group, unit, team, department, school and/or institutional mission and business goals and objectives.
• To provide timely recognition to employees either as planned or immediate recognition.
• To provide multiple-levels of non-monetary recognition based on the significance of the contribution.
• To provide both individual and team recognition and rewards.
• To provide for both manager and employee initiated recognition and rewards.
• To improve employee productivity and quality of work.
• To improve customer service.
