UWF Closures

A UWF closure is a suspension of normal university activities. Many departments, such as the Police and Facilities, continue essential activities but the rest of the university is closed. A UWF closure decision is made by the UWF president or his/her designee. Issues related to closing are coordinated with local officials via the Escambia County Emergency Operations Center.

Building Emergency Coordinator (BEC) Closure Activities

• Ensure completion of closure checklists for office/ administrative areas as well as lab/research areas
• Bring in or secure loose items outside of the building
• Secure vehicles
• Monitor information from UWF administration regarding operational schedules
