Rachel Pryor (Env. Sci. BS'08 and current Ensign in the NOAA Corps) recently shared an ongoing potential for volunteering at sea with NOAA National Marine Fisheries Service: "I wanted to let you know that the Pascagoula NMFS Laboratory accepts volunteers to go out on the NOAA Ships. There are three here, Pisces, Gordon Gunter, and Oregon II. Sometimes a volunteer will have to meet the ship in a different port or leave the ship in a different port but its worth the experience."
Congratulations to recent UWF Environemntal Studies graduate Rebecca Fraker, who was awarded a paid internship with the National Park Service in Washington, DC. Rebecca will be working with a wildlife biologist on an Emerald Ash Borer invasive management project and presenting her research at a conference in August.
