Applying for Graduation

Prior to completing a Graduation Application, students should ensure all graduation requirements (University, departmental, and otherwise) are met. For general information please review the Graduation Guide.

The University of West Florida holds commencement ceremonies twice a year; at the end of the Spring and Fall semesters. All students who have applied to receive a Bachelor’s or Graduate level degree are encouraged to participate.

Degree Verification

Students can access degree and attendance information through MyUWF. If official verification is needed for a third party, it is recommended that students order an official transcript or obtain verification through The National Student Clearinghouse.

Excess Hours

In 2009, the Excess Hours Surcharge was implemented by the Florida Legislature to encourage students to complete their baccalaureate degree as timely and efficiently as possible. Full details including surcharge amounts are available on the Excess Hours website.
