Emerge: High-Impact Practices at UWF

High-impact practices (HIPs) help students reap the full benefits of their college experience. HIPs come in a variety of forms and are suited to different learning styles. Studying abroad is considered a HIP. So is conducting research, collaborating on projects, internships, and service learning. Because HIPs have been proven to benefit college students, UWF strongly encourages its students to engage in these practices. Hence, the Emerge Scholar program.

High-Impact Practices

Engagement within the classroom can contribute to retention and help students reach the learning outcomes developed for the course. Beyond the classroom, students can find academic engagement with study abroad, service learning, and undergraduate research projects.
