
Elementary Education/ESOL/Reading, B.A. The University of West Florida (UWF) Elementary Education bachelor’s degree program trains teachers to teach students in Kindergarten through Grade 6 in Florida. Students graduating from this program are eligible for teacher certification by the Florida Department of Education in the K-6 Elementary subject area and endorsements in Reading and ESOL (English Speakers of Other Languages). This program is designed to provide specialized training in order to implement best practices in education for students in elementary classrooms. Curriculum for the program is constantly monitored to ensure that students receive the most recent K-6 Elementary Education Competencies and Skills promulgated by the Florida Department of Education. Graduates of the program are expected to be empowered professionals making a difference in the schools and learning communities where they work and live. This program is a Florida Department of Education approved program.
