After several years in the retail management field, I completed my bachelor's degree in 2004 in Career and Technical Education and started teaching Business Education and Diversified Career Technology at Pensacola High School. I entered the master's degree program through the Alternative Certification Program that same year and received my degree in December 2005. I am currently in the specialist program for Educational Leadership.
I was Rookie Teacher of the Year for the Escambia Association for Career and Technical Educators in both 2005 and 2006 and was Pensacola High School's Teacher of the Year for 2008. In 2005, I received recognition from the University of West Florida for Outstanding Leadership Skills in Career and Technical Education; and in 2006, the L.H. Perkins Memorial Endowment Scholarship. I have recently been named the Coordinator of School Choice for the district, responsible for Student Transfers, Student Records, Zoning and Boundaries, as well as Home School.
Note from Dr. White, CTE Program Coordinator: Chris exemplifies the types of students who pursue degrees in Career and Technical Education at the University of West Florida.
