Dr. Nancy B. Hastings is an assistant professor of Instructional and Performance Technology at the University of West Florida. Her primary research interests are individual differences, online learning, and the purposeful use of technology to facilitate learning in both educational and noneducational settings.
Prior to joining the faculty at the University of West Florida, Dr. Hastings was employed by Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Her responsibilities there included teaching traditional and online classes as well as designing, developing, and implementing a fully online M.Ed. program for the Instructional Technology Department. Dr. Hastings holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Technology from Wayne State University and a Masters of Training and Development and Bachelors of Science in Human Resource Management from Oakland University, Rochester, Michigan. She is active in several professional organizations including the Association for Educational Communications and Technology (AECT), for which she has served for several years as an officer in the Training and Performance Division.
