Welcome To Delphi!
Delphi was created with you in mind. We have created a living environment for our first-year students which helps students make a smoother transition into university life. Members of Delphi experience a smaller community within the 11,000 student population of UWF. By being a part of this community will make friends with those you live with, build memories for a life time, and set yourself a solid academic foundation for years to come.
Building Friendships
College is about meeting new people and making new friendships. It is your friends in college who will support you need you need assistance and celebrate with you when you achieve your goals. Delphi has just under three hundred first-year students living in Martin Hall. This smaller community allows you to meet other students who are just like you; starting out on their journey to college. By interacting with people in the hall you will begin to build relationships. In a short time span you will build strong friendships among people in Delphi.
Memories for a life time
Memories are what make college special and friends play a vital role in these memories. Delphi will help you start out creating those memories. The events which are hosted by the staff of Delphi will help you to meet other people and create a place to begin creating the fun times you will remember long after you are gone. You will remember the long nights of staying of a laughing with friends, attending campus events, late night walks with a group of people just for fun, and that road trip which started at 9:00am because someone suggested going to Orlando spontaneously. Let Delphi be the catalyst for those memories.
Solid Academic Foundation
Can you imagine having to go to your first class and not knowing anyone in the classroom? Many first-year students face this fear every fall semester. However, Delphi can help to relieve that fear. We have secured seats in many of your first-year courses. This allows the students of Delphi to select courses where other Delphi students are enrolled. Some of these classes have included American History, English Composition, College Algebra, Biology, Psychology, and Academic Foundation Seminar. You can select classes which other students living in Martin Hall are taking. This will allow to go to class as a group, help one another with difficult material, and form study groups. By using the resources provided to you as a Delphi student you will build positive study habits will help to keep your GPA high. Each year the average GPA for Delphi students is higher than the general freshmen class.
