Sexual Responsibility Week is a special week long campaign during the week of February 8th -12th that aims to promote a respectful understanding of sexual health. Sexual Responsibility begins with values, communication and knowledge. First and foremost, one must define his or her personal values with regard to engaging in sexual activity. These values are supported by maturity, self-esteem, knowledge, self-control, and healthy attitudes and behaviors.
In honor of Sexual Responsibility Week, Counseling & Wellness Services plans on having a couple of exciting events. Our biggest event will be Sex on the Big Screen on Wednesday, February 10th at 7:00 in the Commons Auditorium. This is an interactive program where students watch hilarious video clips from films such as “The 40-year old Virgin,” “Superbad,” Old School,” “Knocked Up,” and many others chosen for their comedy and educational value. Each clip is followed by a discussion determining what was healthy and unhealthy about each scene, and what the characters could have done differently to help the individuals in the clip become sexually “safer.” The first 50 students who attend will receive a free T-shirt. Free pizza & prizes will be given away! After Sex on the Big Screen, join the TKE’s for their Date Auction at 8:00 in the Argo Galley.
