Amanda Morgan
Psychological Resident
I am very happy to be starting my career at the University of West Florida Counseling and Wellness Services. I completed both my undergraduate degree and Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Texas A&M University. I completed my pre-doctoral internship at the Appalachian State University Counseling and Psychological Services Center. It is a pleasure to work with students during such an exciting time in their lives. With this excitement come many transitions which can sometimes prove to be challenging. My goal is to help students during these difficult times so they can go on to be successful in achieving their goals.
In working with clients, I integrate techniques primarily grounded in interpersonal, humanistic, and psychodynamic theories. I aim to collaborate with and empower students to cope with their challenges and explore their beliefs and meanings of their life. Some of my professional interests include eating disorders/ body image, grief and loss, consultation, group therapy, and working with student athletes.
