Biography:

Dr. Samantha Seals has a Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Dr. Seals also received her M.S. degree in Mathematical Sciences and her B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of West Florida.  Dr. Seals' statistical methodology research involves model specification in the analysis of spatially correlated outcomes; in application, this equates to how to best analyze data resulting from imaging (e.g., MRI).

Her secondary interests include the design, implementation, and analysis of clinical trials and the epidemiology of cardiovascular disease. Dr. Seals' postdoctoral position focused on scholarly collaborations with physician-researchers. As such, she specializes in collaborative statistics, which includes study design, implementation of data collection, analysis of medical data, and coauthoring manuscripts. Dr. Seals currently teaches Elements of Statistics and Statistical Modeling.
