With two locations to choose from (Pensacola or Fort Walton Beach, Florida), students are prepared to embark upon a professional career in electrical or computer engineering from ABET accredited programs.
Our Electrical Engineering program and our Computer Engineering program are accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission (EAC) of ABET. ABET is the recognized global accreditor of college and university programs in applied science, computing, engineering and engineering technology and is among the most respected accreditation organizations in the United States.
ABET accreditation is assurance that a college or a university program meets the quality standards established by the profession for which it prepares its students. For example, an accredited engineering program must meet the quality standards set by the engineering profession. An accredited computer science program must meet the quality standards set by the computing profession. More information about the mission, structure, members of the ABET and its commissions can be found at www.abet.org. ABET can be contacted at: ABET, Inc., 111 Market Pl., Suite 1050, Baltimore, MD 21202. Phone: (410) 347-7700 Fax: (410) 625-2238
UWF engineering students are taught in well-equipped facilities by energetic and approachable professors dedicated to superior teaching and hands-on experience. With two locations (Pensacola Campus and Emerald Coast Campus at Fort Walton Beach), students have many opportunities to engage in internship and research activities as well as three specializations to choose from.
Electrical Engineering (EE) utilizes all phases of development and properties of electric energy. Our ABET accredited BSEE degree prepares students to specialize in areas such as electronics, robotics, electronic-based communications, signal and image processing, controls, and power systems
Computer Engineering (CE) employs the development of computer hardware and software solutions for today's emerging technologies. Our ABET accredited BSCE provides students with a strong background in engineering analysis, design, and the implementation skills necessary to succeed in the workplace.
Students are able to study at the campus location that's closer to home without the worry of missing out on any opportunities. All engineering programs are offered at both locations so students do not have to worry about choosing the program that is closer to them. Both campuses feature labs and classroom equipped with the tools needed for their studies as well as staff and faculty readily available for assistance and mentoring. With beautiful campuses in two great locations, Engineering students can always stay connected and confidently receive the quality education UWF has to offer.
