The College of Professional Studies is dedicated to Creating Great Futures for our students, for our region and for society. We build for tomorrow through our commitment to two goals -- “service to others” and “scholarship.”
Faculty and staff in our Departments of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies; Engineering and Computer Technology; Graduate Education; Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science; Social Work; and the Division of Teacher Education are marked by traditions of service to students and the community, and the application of the most advanced technologies of instructional delivery to our residential students, to regional campuses, and to students throughout the United States and the world. The College of Professional Studies passionately embraces the most effective teaching methods and learning principles, to achieve higher education’s principle mission of service to society.
We are a College that deeply cares about our students, and those we are preparing them to serve. The faculty expect as much from their students, as they expect from themselves in their teaching, advising, and their own research. By modeling the characteristics of “the life-long learner” our professors exhibit the most important quality that will be necessary for the twenty-first century education—the passionate desire to learn throughout one’s life.
Once again, thank you for visiting with us. If you would like to visit with a professor, chat with one of our students, or if there is anything else you would like to know about the College or its programs please feel free to contact my office at (850) 474-2769 or email us at copsdean@uwf.edu.
