Hospitality, Recreation, and Resort Management
The Hospitality, Recreation, and Resort Management (HRRM) program at the University of West Florida (UWF) offers a learning environment where students are challenged and encouraged to achieve their goals.
Located within the Department of Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science in the College of Professional Studies, classes in HRRM are taught at both the main campus in Pensacola and the Fort Walton Beach campus, and are now being offered at Gulf Coast State College in Panama City, Fla.
The program’s proximity to the beautiful Florida Gulf Coast tourist communities, such as Pensacola Beach, Destin, Perdido Key, and Fort Walton Beach, provides a living laboratory where students can apply first-hand the knowledge and theories they learn in the classroom.
The HRRM program embraces diversity and includes students who are seeking four-year degrees from the University of West Florida, as well as students working toward bachelor’s degrees in HRRM after receiving Associates degrees from community colleges.
Students in HRRM have a strong management and problem-solving orientation that is balanced with operational skills, all of which are necessary for career progression to leadership positions in the hospitality and related professions. In addition to the program curriculum, students are required to contribute 40 volunteer hours at a non-profit agency or organization. For more information about this program, please refer to the UWF Catalog.
