This course provides the student with the knowledge and skills required to identify risk, to participate in risk mitigation activities, and to provide infrastructure, application, information, and operational security. In addition students will build knowledge and skills required to apply security controls to maintain confidentiality, integrity, and availability, identify appropriate technologies and products, troubleshoot security events and incidents, and operate with an awareness of applicable policies, laws, and regulations. Upon completion of the program, you will receive a voucher to take the CompTIA™ Security+ certifying exam (SY0-401).
Online instruction delivered over approximately 8 weeks to participants in any location with a high-speed internet connection. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and utilizing a Windows based operating system is expected. In addition to scheduled online instructor sessions, students will need to be prepared to commit at least 9 hours a week to studies and LabSim activities to develop skills and knowledge within the following CompTIA Security+ Domains:
- Network Security
- Compliance and Operational Security
- Threats and Vulnerabilities
- Application, Data and Host Security
- Access Control and Identity Management
