I hold a B.A. from the University of West Florida in psychology and an M.Ed. from Regent University. I taught for a total of 7 years in Pensacola, Florida and Virginia Beach, VA before becoming a staffing specialist for the Escambia County School District. I currently reside in Pensacola, Florida with my husband and four-legged, fur-baby named Tator Tot. In my years as a teacher, I noticed a need for many students to have opportunities for hands-on, fun activities to build and grow their foundational math skills necessary to be successful in secondary mathematics courses. So often, though, students would make it to middle school with either a lack of a solid background in mathematics or with angst/anxiety towards math making it hard for them to be successful in math at the secondary level. As such, I have developed a camp that will generate enthusiasm for the study of math and provide opportunities to grow foundational mathematics skills that students can build on for years to come.
