Board Certified assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA)
Job Summary:
Under direction of the Clinical Director and Board Certified Behavior Analyst:
- Provide direct 1:1 services to children with Autism in a professional clinic environment
- Collect data and monitor behavior support services
- Perform limited administrative duties
- Perform a variety of specialized learning techniques, communication strategies, and applied behavioral techniques pertaining to the instruction of children with moderate to severe autism as described in the child’s individualized behavior program (IBP)
- Model the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques for parents
- Provide training to Behavior Technicians (BTs) and Group Instructors
Typical Duties:
- Provide care for child’s physical and self- help needs
- Learn and use assistive technology and other specialized equipment
- Attend meetings, conferences, and in-services related to job responsibilities and professional development
- Shape behavior through positive reinforcement strategies
- Shape communication skills through the use of latest ABA research contributions
- Assist in physical needs including diapering, feeding, or gross motor skills
Job Requirements:
Reaching Milestones is seeking highly motivated Board Certified assistant Behavior Analysts with strong supervisory skills and administrative experience. Successful applicants will have experience in one or more of the following areas: conducting functional behavioral assessments/analyses, developing individualized behavior programs, conducting language assessments (VB-MAPP / ABLLS), and/or implementing verbal behavior programs. Bill 130 hours in a month
Knowledge of:
Discrete trial methods; appropriate strategies and methods for shaping children’s behaviors; characteristics of children with autism; Microsoft Excel and data collection, report writing using Excel data, records, management, storage, and retrieval
Ability to:
- Implement individualized behavior plans, documentation and follow-up procedures
- Maintain records and write reports
- Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA standards
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with children, parents, teachers, behavior assistants, supervisors, and other staff
Physical Demands:
This is largely an active role. This would require the ability to bend, sit, stand, lift, walk, and diaper a child throughout the day. Lifting requirement range is 5-20 lbs. but may exceed in excess of 20 lbs. in some cases
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology or related field required
