Our Mission and Vision
Distance and Continuing Education (DCE) at the University of West Florida (UWF) was formed in August 2001 to become a premier regional provider of educational and training services to non-traditional students. DCE attracts and enrolls a diverse and talented group of non-traditional students interested in the pursuit of life-long learning. These students include executives, professionals, career changers, those seeking licensure and/or certification, educators, high-tech employees, military, youth, and those over 55.
The mission of Distance and Continuing Education (DCE) is to provide high quality credit and non-credit education and training opportunities to meet individual, community, and professional needs of non-traditional learners and to participate in valuable community educational partnerships that advance the economy in the region.
DCE invests strategically to create programs that meet the needs of the regional and state workforce and develops highly qualified personnel to engage students in high-impact learning experiences.
The vision of the Distance and Continuing Education is to stimulate creativity and change lives by helping individuals develop and refine their knowledge, skills and abilities, and to encourage them to invest in their future.
