Vance provides direct management and oversight of the Academic Technology Center (ATC), Online Campus, and Division of Continuing Education as well as providing support to college administrators and faculty in all efforts related to the design, development, and implementation of academic technology initiatives and or distance learning courses and programs at the University. Vance is responsible for conducting academic technology initiatives and quality improvement initiatives for the Universityâ€™s distance learning courses, including faculty development, faculty resources. He assists with development of related University policies and is the official representitive of ATC and CE at the Deanâ€™s Council.
Patti Spaniola joined UWF in December 2008 and currently serves as the Program Director and Meeting Planner for Continuing Education. Patti oversees all non-credit programs including open enrollment classes for professional and personal development, non-credit certificates, Explore Summer Camps, Leisure Learning Society as well as the unit's marketing efforts. Patti earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL and an M.B.A. from Regis University in Colorado Springs, CO. Active in the Pensacola and UWF community, Patti volunteers her time to serve on committees and boards promoting education including ASTD, Next Generation Learning Community, Business Connect Summit, Men of Color Conference and Retreat and the Association for Continuing Higher Education. Having spent most of her life in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, Patti loves to hike and spend time outdoors. She enjoys spending time on the beach, traveling the world or scrapbooking the hundreds of photos taken on each adventure.
Director, IT Academy
Nicole Gislason is the director of UWF Training Solutions and IT Academy. She is an educator and service provider who strives to expand and improve training opportunities in the 10-county region of Northwest Florida. Her primary talent in higher education is an ability to collaborate with business leaders, trainers, and government officials -- connecting people who have common needs but different missions. The results are collaborative workforce training projects created by true partners with measureable plans for success. Before starting a new project, Nicole conducts needs assessments and survey research to evaluate an organization or an associationâ€™s training gaps. With industry support, she develops and manages career technical certifications and custom training programs to educate non-traditional students, unemployed workers, and business professionals. Many programs focus on Information Technology, Project Management, Supervisory Skills, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Leadership Training.
Specialist, Leisure Learning Society
Rhonda Robinson was added on as a valuable part of the Marketing Team for the UWF Continuing Education Department in 2012. In addition, she serves as the assistant director of the Leisure Learning Society, a member based group of seniors who attend academic based programs and events. She also contributes much of the content for LLS and oversees the marketing efforts.Â Rhonda's passion for graphic design and strong attention for detail allow her to play an active part in contributing to the development and growth of Continuing Education department.Â Rhonda previously served as the Director of Concert Operations for the Roswell Symphony Orchestra in Roswell, NM, where she managed all marketing, graphic design, and promotional efforts throughout Southeastern New Mexico.
Youth Education Program Manager
This is Michelle's 3rd year working with summer camps, and she is dedicated to making it her best yet. Michelle has a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education with specializations in ESOL and Reading. She is also currently working towards a Master's Degree in Public Administration, as well as a certificate in Non-Profit Organizations. Michelle has a total of three "children": two cats and a dog named Brady.
Marketing & Creative Manager
Kelly loves anything beautiful from superbly designed websites to well crafted ad campaigns and all things type! Specializing in Marketing and Communications, she holds a BFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, as well an AAS in Multimedia Technology. Kelly currently serves as the Marketing & Communications Coordinator within the University of West Florida's Continuing Education and Distance Learning departments. When she's not at work you can find her in downtown Pensacola enjoying our great city or volunteering her time at local animal shelters.
National Flight Academy Coordinator
Megan Crawford is the newest member to join the Continuing Education department in April of 2013. With a background in healthcare administration, she brings strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as an unyielding desire to help others. Megan currently serves in the role of National Flight Academy Program Coordinator. An alum of the University of West Florida, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2011. In her spare time, Megan enjoys attending all the various events and festivals offered in and around the Pensacola area and spending time with her two corgis.
Sharon has been a part of the team at UWF for the past 20 years and started assisting with the GIS Online Certification Program at it's inception in 2004. She has contributed to the program's development and growth over the years and continues to do so. Sharon is responsible for getting the GIS students cleared and registered for the GIS classes each semester. When she's not at work, she enjoys reading and watching her grandchildren grow.
Rodger directs all Continuing Education business processes including financial planning and management, staffing, purchasing, contracts and grants, and administration. He oversees Continuing Education procedures and compliance, as well as business support for the Academic Technology Center. Coordinating closely with the Colleges and Academic Departments, he oversees Continuing Education's responsibilities for helping plan, execute, and provide student support for a variety of credit programs. Rodger started working at UWF in 2006 after a 30 year career in the Navy and has been with Continuing Education since 2007. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from the U. S. Naval Academy, a Master's Degree in Adult Education from the University of Rhode Island, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of West Florida.
Charlotte has been a part of the UWF team since 2008 and currently serves as the Office Specialist for the Division of Continuing Education providing administrative support for programs, conferences, projects and activities related to Continuing Education and its associated contracts and grants. Charlotte indulges her love for the arts by serving on UWF's Festival on the Green committee as a Co-Chair for the Fine Arts Show. When not on campus, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family, her incredible son, and her fabulous German Shepherd dog (who is considered her first born).
Genene has been with the IT Academy and Continuing Education at University of West Florida since December 2004. Prior to joining this team, she was with Career Services at University of North Alabama for 12 years. In her current role as Program Specialist at UWF, she assists students with registration for Continuing Education academic credit certificate programs and IT Academy.
Debra Walker has been with UWF's Division of Continuing Education since 2007. She currently serves as the Division's Office Administrator coordinating purchases and personnel, in addition to many other responsibilities.

John joined the UWF faculty, College of Professional Studies, Division of Teacher Education, in 1996, where he served as Instructor, Coordinator of Educational Programs, and Director, Field Experiences/Student Teaching. In 2007 he joined the Academic Technology Center as Coordinator, Online Campus and subsequently organized and commissioned the Student Support center.
Education-wise, John earned his B.Ss Degree in Management and Psychology with Honors (Summa Cum Laude), University of Maryland, and his M.A.Degree.in Clinical Teaching ESE Learning Disabilities, University of West Florida.
John is a retired CDR, USN (Submarines) and brings to the Student Support Center and Online Campus a wealth of leadership and management experience and working knowledge of University Academic Policies and Educational Programs.
Student Support Specialist
Sarah Banner joined the Division of Continuing Education in 2004 after working in Academic Affairs at the University for a number of years. She brings to Continuing Education her knowledge of working with special events. Sarah serves as a Program Coordinator managing non-credit programs, personal and professional development programs as well as supporting the needs of our students.Â She is a member of the Association for Continuing Higher Education, University Professional and Continuing Education and a national member of the Society for Human Resource Management. Sarah enjoys spending time with family, attending sporting events, gardening and reading.
Student Support Specialist
Brenda Carey started at UWF in 1984. She worked in several other departments before joining The Division of Continuing Education in 2007 as a Student Support Specialist. She provides customer support and helps with registration in all areas including, but not limited to, professional and personal development, non-credit certificates, as well as youth and senior programs. Brenda also enjoys serving as a Poll Worker for the Escambia County Supervisor of Elections and has for the past 17 years. She is the proud mother of one son, Michael, and loves spending time with bothÂ immediateÂ family and church family as well as her friends.
Gary has been in the role of Child Welfare Training Coordinator since 2006. Prior to his work with the University of West Florida, Gary held a training position with the University of South Florida and worked as a Foster Care Supervisor in Okaloosa County. He has held positions with both FamiliesFirst Network and the Florida Department of Children and Families since beginning his career in the field of child welfare in 2001.
Senior Training Specialist
Theresa Cserep joined the Continuing Education department at UWF in 2006. As a Senior Training Specialist she has been providing child welfare training to various agencies since the beginning of the contract. Theresa trains degreed professionals in the classroom, in office consultations and also in the field across Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties. Theresa has experience in child protective investigations as well as working with individuals who have disabilities. Theresa graduated with a B.S. from the University of West Florida in 2001.
Theresa is active in the community and is serving as the Fundraiser Chair for the Junior League of Pensacola where she has been an active member since 2003. She is a member of the 2013 class of Leadership Pensacola (LeaP) and also Pensacola Young Professionals. As a Pensacola native she is interested in seeing Pensacola grow and thrive. Theresa has a passion for adoption and enjoys speaking publicly regarding her own journey as a child who was gifted a forever family. She and her husband Rick enjoy spending time outdoors together with their three young daughters.
Senior Training Specialist
Nancy has been in the child welfare field for twelve years as a Child Protection Investigator, an Adoptions Counselor, and as a Trainer. Nancy thoroughly enjoys every aspect of training, as it affords her the opportunity to share her experiences with others, as well as the ability to stay hands-on with Investigators and Counselors in the field.
