The department of Computer Science selected Software Engineering major Janusz Chudzynski for the 2008-2009 outstanding graduate assistant. Janusz received a very nice plaque and a monetary award at the CAS Graduate Honors Ceremony held April 2, 2009. The award was presented by Dr. Jane Halonen-Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Laura J. White-Software Engineering Program Director, and Dr. John Coffey-Chair of the Computer Science Scholarship Committee.

Janusz was born in Warsaw, Poland, June 11, 1981 he attended the Warsaw University of Technology from 2000 to 2006 earning a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Management and Marketing. He moved to Destin, Florida in 2006 and initially working as a Lifeguard at Big Kahuna's. Then in 2007 Janusz enrolled in UWF's ESL-Intensive English courses. He was then admitted to our Master's in Computer Science-Software Engineering program in Fall 2008.
Janusz has been a tremendous asset to the CS department working as a graduate assistant during the Fall 2008 semester providing tutoring in the CS lab, designing print brochures for various events, updating the large SSE display, and updating and maintaining several SSE websites. During the Spring 2009 semester, Janusz designed a website framework that accommodates iPhones so that the CS website formats nicely on iPhones and iPod Touch devices, he also developed an iPhone puzzle game for the new SSE building, and continuing to support several SSE websites. Janusz is also building resources so that he can teach a course about iPhone/iPod Touch programming for the CS department in the near future.
During the time Janusz devoted many more hours than he was allotted for pay because as he stated, "he wants to learn more". Janusz has also maintained a 4.0 GPA while taking 10 semester hours of graduate courses each semester.
