Thomas Westcott


Dr. Thomas Westcott, instructor, teaches general psychology and counseling. 

Westcott's research interests lie in the areas of counseling, mental imagery and consciousness. He has published in professional publications and given presentations on various aspects of positive psychology, classroom management and study skills.

He has been recognized for his dedication to teaching by receiving the Student Government Association's Distinguished Teaching Award in 1996 and 2016.

At UWF for 25 years, he has served as dean of general studies and associate dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Before coming to the University, he was dean of student affairs and associate professor of psychology at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina.

He received a bachelor's degree in history, and a master's and doctorate in counseling, all from Pennsylvania State University.
