Clinical Year Curriculum

The clinical year consists of 35 credits of Medical Laboratory Sciences courses offered over 3 semesters.


The clinical year consists of 35 credits of Medical Laboratory Sciences courses offered over 3 semesters.  Courses are only offered once per year.  Students may opt to take 2 years to complete the curriculum.  All courses are online. Students must maintain a 2.5 GPA to remain in the program.

Up to 12 semester hours of Associate in Science MLT courses will be validated for upper level credit based upon MLT certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology, and successful completion of the Clinical Year Curriculum. Some US states have special training requirements. Students seeking licensure in California and New York may need to complete additional training hours and additional science courses to comply with state license requirements.

 

Out of state students

UWF is a Florida state university.  Not all states authorize online programs. If you reside outside of Florida you should check the status of your state‚Äôs acceptance of this program at http://uwf.edu/online/out-of-state-students/state-authorization/. The program is standardized by Quality Matters.  Out of state students may be eligible for a 75% out-of-state tuition waiver. Military students stationed in Florida are considered Florida residents. The program does not meet immigration requirements for students holding an F1 or J1 Visa.
