Dr. Randall Craig Reid, an Assistant Professor, teaches data communication, data security, management science, decision support systems, and the introductory information systems course.
A longtime member of the U.S. Army Reserve, Reid has researched education issues as well as technological topics such as malicious codes, computer virus attacks, and electronic signatures. He and a colleague collaborated on a chapter, “Strategic and Ethical Issues in Outsourcing Information Technologies,” for a book on social responsibility.
Reid’s research on education issues include “An Example for Teaching Troubleshooting in a Management Science Course,” “Assuring Academic Integrity of Student Projects in an Introductory MIS Course – A Case Study,” and “Essays in Management Science.” His research has appeared in Journal of Education for Business, Information Security Education Journal, Academy of Accounting and Financial Studies Journal, and other peer-reviewed publications.
The College of Business awarded Reid a 2016 College of Business E.W. Hopkins Faculty Development Award for his work.
Reid earned his Ph.D. in Management Information Systems at the University of South Carolina. He also holds professional standing as a Certified Information Systems Auditor, among other professional recognitions.
