Dr. Richard V. Calvasina has done extensive research on such subjects as workplace issues, activity-based costing and policies for virtual offices.

Some of his most recent research focused on “Accounting Myths for Management Decision-Making that We Have Come to Know and Love.”

In addition, Calvasina has tackled such topics as: pay secrecy issues for employers, employee use of social media, regulating employee lifestyles, use of credit checks in employee selection, and sexual hostility in the workplace.

Publications carrying finds by Calvasina include Journal of Business and Behavioral Sciences,

Information Systems: A Journal of the International Association for Computer Information Systems, Business Studies Journal, and Journal of Management and Marketing Research.

After he obtained an MBA in Accounting, Calvasina worked his way from controller trainee to division controller at a private company before returning to the University of Mississippi to earn his Ph.D.

Calvasina has helped with numerous professional and university services – serving on search committees, reviewing manuscripts and being a member of the UWF Academic Review and Standards Committee.
