| Sept 19 | Luanne Rolly & Thomas EtheridgeHewlett Packard, Visiting Scientists Massachusetts Institute of Technology Title: From Molecular Memory to Printed Quantum Dots: Life as a Chemist at Hewlett-Packard Abstract: Working as a chemist at a company better known for computers and printers than for chemicals and materials is probably not the career envisioned by most chemists but exciting chemical problems abound. In this seminar I will discuss three recent projects I have worked on at HP – molecular memory devices, photonic crystals and printed quantum dots. The basic science, potential application and interesting chemical problems associated with each will be covered. |
